In complete disclosure – I don’t like the way Joel blogs. I’ve read his blog for a long, long time. I have trusted my defect tracking to Fogbugz since 2002 or 2003.
And – I was a beta tester of the online version of Fogbugz. And I will use it. My current client is set to use Fogbugz online as our primary defect tracking system once we launch.
I may not like how Joel blogs (no comments is annoying – and yes, I know he has forums). But Joel builds good software. Functional software. Intuitive software. It’s a freaking browser for crying out loud – if you can’t use that you shouldn’t be working with me anyway!
So congrats to Joel and the crew. Fogbugz Online works extremely well – and most importantly – it works “without effort”
FogBugz On Demand has actually been in beta since April, and in fact we have been hosting FogBugz trials on line since 2000, without ever losing anyone’s data. (The first FogBugz 1.0 trial server, believe it or not, was a Thinkpad laptop with a broken screen plugged into our office T1!) So I’m pretty confident now that our little company can do a pretty good job of hosting FogBugz for you.
