Last month, in a post titled, “Firefox Extensions Someone Should Write” I posted:
I often go to web sites that are taken down by traffic because they were Digg?d, or linked to by a popular blog. Why not have the browser remind me in say, two days, to try the site again?
Doesn?t seem like it should be to difficult to write?
And now, lo and behold – Mr. Uptime! Very Cool 🙂
Let’s say you see a link on Lifehacker to another site that you really want to check out, but the flood of visitors from Lifehacker and other sites has temporarily put the site out of commission. Rather than leaving a dead tab open in Firefox and periodically checking to see if the page is back up, or searching Google cache and other web caches to find the page, just add the URL to your Mr. Uptime watchlist and forget about it.
