Well I was born in a small town
And I can breathe in a small town
Gonna die in a small town
Ah, that’s prob’ly where they’ll bury me
Lyrics from “Small Town” by John Mellencamp.
I was born in a small town, but I don’t live in one now. But sometimes paths cross in odd ways that make my town seem very small. Such an occasion happened today, and not in a good way.
The odds of me running into a conflict of interest in one of the largest cities in the US should be extremely low.
Evidently, it isn’t.
