Illness unmasks generous ‘Secret Santa’ – U.S. Life – MSNBC.com

My favorite part of this story is that in 1971, when the guy was dead broke and living in his car he ordered his first food in two days at a small diner. When it came time to pay he acted like he forgot his wallet – and the diner owner slipped him $20 and told him he “must have lost this”. Last year he returned to the Dixie Diner, in Houston, Miss. and gave the diner owner $10,000. That’s a heck of a return on a $20 act of kindness!

A man who has given away millions of dollars and become known as Secret Santa for handing out Christmas cash to the needy is allowing his name to be publicized after 26 years.
