Quick Google Search tips

Just got off the phone with a friend of mine that was looking for something specific on a blog – and he couldn’t find it via Google (and the blog had no search feature).

Two quick ways to maximize results like this:

Search “blog: text_I_want_to_find” causes Google to look in blogs, not the general Internet.

Search “website: text_I_want_to_find” searches just the website.

Examples:

“blog:Google Reader” will find entries from a LOT of blogs about Google Reader.

“lagesse.org:Google Reader” will find all of my entries on Google Reader.
