SpongeBob Squarepants Explains the Nuclear Family of the New Millennium · Violent Acres

Just go read it.  I would write more, but I’m pissed at the moment.  Why?  Because this reminds me of the bitch in this post who accused me of “stealing”my kids from their mommy.

No, I didn’t steal them – I raised them.  And I am quite pleased with who they are.  AND my role in their life.

So just go read it – and make sure you are being a parent, and not a fucking potato head.

I have to think that even to a 5 year old child, the message in this episode of Spongebob Squarepants was insultingly clear: Mothers do everything. Fathers are worthless. Mothers are generous, nurturing superheroes. Fathers are inconsiderate, lazy clods. Mothers take care of the baby and do all household chores. Fathers blatantly ignore Mommys sacrifices and dont do a damn thing all day long.

  1. @Mido – thanks 🙂 – I’m not really mad anymore.

  2. I’m here via a technocrati (or whatever) from VA’s own blog. Hi.

Yeah, cartoons really make you wonder…I’m wonder how much they effected my thought process growing up.

I think if I ever have kids, I’m not going to have a television. Not that all books are better, but I think most of them aren’t into some of the extremes of stereotypes like cartoons are nowadays.

I am sorry you are mad, but just keep being a responsible parent and break those sterotypes
