As I mentioned in this post, Manu Ginobili is having a great run. He’s also a really nice guy. I’ve met him twice, and he was completely nice both times. Once was in an airport, where I just said, “Hello, Manu”. He walked over and talked to me for a few minutes.
The other time was at a restaurant where he stopped by our table on the way out and said hello (three of the five of us had Spur’s shirts on).
Congrats, Manu – you deserve it!
Manu Ginobili’s return to the bench has not interfered with his ability to help guide the San Antonio Spurs to a season-best 12-game winning streak.
His especially inspired play of late has not gone unnoticed by the NBA, which today named the Spurs guard Western Conference Player of the Week honors.
Ginobili, who has come off the bench in each game during the Spurs’ current winning streak, averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals to help San Antonio lock in a 4-0 record last week.
Ginobili tallied 23 points, four rebounds and three assists in a 99-94 win at Portland on March 6.
Two nights later, Ginobili scored 26 points and grabbed five rebounds to go along with four steals and three assists in a 100-93 win at Sacramento.
