I just got word that a longtime friend of mine just lost his seat on the Board of Directors for a fairly large company – a post he held for many years.
While I certainly feel badly for him, he is the one that first shared the spelling of “the bored room” with me – telling me maybe he was just really bored. I don’t think people do well with boredom. Especially not a manager, or member of the Board – they need to be leaders – they need to inspire. They can’t afford “bored”. Or they get “booted”.
He got booted, and I know he’ll understand me saying, “What did you expect? You were bored”.
*sigh*
