Turkey official compares pope to Hitler – Europe – MSNBC.com

Let The Religion War  begin.

How many will die in the name of a God;

How many will suffer at the hands of a “true believer”?

Religion scares me.

  1. WHAT? They’re now threatening to spill alcohol?*foam on mouth*Okay. That’s it! I’m in on the fight. This is outside of enough! As for bounties for the mujahideen . I also read about the ‘head tax’ .. once we’re all conquered, in order to keep from being beheaded, you either convert to Islam OR … you pay the so called head tax.So, in the end, it’s all about money again!

  2. And the carnage and craziness continues:

“We shall break the cross and spill the wine … God will (help) Muslims to conquer Rome … (May) God enable us to slit their throats, and make their money and descendants the bounty of the mujahideen,”

Maybe the Roman Catholic Church can team up with the Southern Baptists and issue their own "Jihad".  And go on the offensive.  As long as you are having a good old fashioned Holy War, you might as well have strength in numbers, and take to offensive!

  3. Yes, even without religion (imagine), there would still be borders and wars. Turf wars.
    Just not as many.

As for the book: if measured by number of copies in print, it would probably be “Quotations from the Works of Mao Tse-tung” (aka ‘The Red Book’).
Probably not what you expected, but 800 millions copies in print is hard to beat.

  4. Heh – yes.  And believing one is infallible because a group of fallible Bishops elected him is not just weird – it’s a bit insane 🙂

But I’ve come to expect one thing from Religion, and it is a constant – that One Thing is insanity!

I wonder what the world would look like if Religion didn’t exist?  Would borders exist?  What book would be the best seller of all time if not for Religion (a random thought that just popped into my head)?

    Ah well.

  5. Now.. it IS a fact, that the pope didn’t REALLY apologize (nor do I think he should, only because 1 billion people go crazy: EVEN the pope has freedom of expressing his opinions). He did NOT say he was sorry about what he SAID… He said he was sorry about the REACTIONS to it.There is a huge difference between "I’m sorry I said that" and "I’m sorry you took it that way". ONLY in the first instance does one admit wrongdoing. The pope CANT do that. That’s against Roman Catholic dogma. The pope is infallible. He CANNOT make mistakes. So he ALSO can’t be sorry for anything he did.Sickening, isn’t it, that religion stuff…

  6. As I expected, the Pope apologized, and the “Muslim” scholars are saying they don’t accept the apology. So much for “forgiveness”.

  7. Jesus Camp looks to be like a fantastic movie, too bad the indie film scene in my area is non-existent.

  8. It’s not necessarily religion itself that scares me.
It’s the fundies! The bigots, the zealots, who insist on trampling my freedom by demanding I subscribe to their particular brand of delusion.
It’s people who run camps like this: http://www.jesuscampthemovie.com/ who scare!
(For a trailer: go to http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/jesuscamp/trailer/ and see how young highly suggestible kids are being brain washed .. I suspect that a larger number of even deeply religious Christian people find this horrible to watch! )

  9. This will cause HUGE uproar, outrage and massive demonstrations throughout the Islamic world, and I can guarantee you that not even ONE percent of these participants in mass hysteria will have even a vague notion of what PapaPope actually said.
Yes, that you can so deeply offend so many people by suggesting to go easy on the violence IS scary. Deeply scary!
