Our local mulch fire, which started Christmas Day continues to burn.  An amazing amount of precious water has been used to try and douse the fire – with minimal results.

  1. Word from the Edwards Aquifer Authority is we should be calling it a “debris fire” rather than a mulch fire. It’s hard to call a pile that contains dirt, construction waste, and whole trees “mulch” with a straight face.
