Our local mulch fire, which started Christmas Day continues to burn.  An amazing amount of precious water has been used to try and douse the fire – with minimal results.

But the picture made it onto MSNBC’s “The Week in Pictures” if you want to vote for it!

Word from the Edwards Aquifer Authority is we should be calling it a “debris fire” rather than a mulch fire. It’s hard to call a pile that contains dirt, construction waste, and whole trees “mulch” with a straight face.
