Onfolio – this was my favorite blog reader. Microsoft bought them, and they disappeared. I moved on to Google Reader, where at least they communicate with me (numerous emails to the Onfolio team have gone unanswered).
Ray Ozzie – His last blog post was on April 1, 2006. A year and a day ago. I met Ray at When 2.0 in December, 2005 at Stanford (where we got kicked out early to allow Al Gore’s security team to come in and do a sweep for a speech Gore was giving later that evening). Where the hell is Ray, and why isn’t he making Live! better? I’ve moved a lot of my life to Google because Ray is apparently a no-show. From GMail to Google Reader – (and Ad-Sense) – I’ve moved to Google because MS is ignoring me (and Ray is ignoring all of us). Come on – give me something here Ray – a ray of hope maybe? Some reason to keep going back to Ideas to see if maybe something has been updated (see Onfolio and WLW, above).
What else has disappeared on you this last year? Both Onfolio and WLW had such potential – but the apparent abandonment makes me wonder what the status is – and since nobody is telling me anything, they look quite dead to me (oh, Ray – if they are dead, can you please release the source to the public domain – you know, as a community service?).
Who has abandoned you online this year? Let me know in the comments.
(Feeling neglected – Rob)
